First grade students at Belmont Station Elementary video conferenced with zookeeper, Jennifer Norman, and arctic fox, Rehn. She asked them for their help to educate the public about arctic animals and the effect humans have on their natural habitat. Students chose to research a polar bear, caribou, harp seal, snowy owl, arctic fox, or walrus and become an expert about their habitat, body covering, movement, adaptations, and how climate change is affecting their home. We hope you learn something new about these amazing animals and help us preserve the melting arctic region!
