【MK8】 Big Blue: 1:23.216: WORLD RECORD!!! (with Live Reaction)

submitted by MUSIC IS LIFE on 01/21/17 1

Hey guys, and oh my god! I'm so happy right now! Finally, a World Record! The overwhelming support that I've received from you guys is amazing, and it makes it so much more special to me! Many of you I'm assuming are newcomers to my channel, so I'll introduce myself. I'm Dinostraw, or Jimmy, if you know me more personally. If you can, please, please, do read through all of this, and where do I begin.... I feel I should begin with how thankful I am for having all of those that pushed me so far, the ones that fueled me to pursue this road, the road to the top. From the lads of vƒ, to the people that followed my journey, my fellow subscribers, my friends, and my family, I don't think I would have ever gotten so far as to here. You guys helped push me, helped shape the path for me to follow, and I want to thank every single one of you: every subscriber, every follower, clanmate (past or current), every friend, and more importantly, anyone that helped nudge me in the right direction, that supported my efforts. Every single one of you, thank you so much; I am so grateful for you guys, and I love you all for this. It's hard to believe a wee-little vƒ lad made it so far. That I started from nowhere and made it all the way up. World Record has been a dream since MKWii days, but it's only until now where it became a reality. I can never forget the day, that November day in 2014, that my friend managed to purchase the DLC for me, despite my Gamepad screen being half-destroyed; without him I would never have continued this game. I can never forget that friend request from Bandit in December of 2014. If I never accepted that, I dunno where I'd be. I can never forget the engagement of NIR, the startup of vƒ, and the friends I've made along the way. The day I got my first Regional Top 10, on (DS) Wario Stadium, marked my first step towards something far. It was the first mark I left in the competitive community. I remember hitting my first Top 20 and remember getting recognized by the higher-end TT'ers, specifically Carson and Beat. Aside from those that were already following the start of my journey, they were the first to notice my potential. It wasn't until months later though that I reached Top 10 on a different track, (GCN) Baby Park. The amount of support I received those next few days was amazing. And now we're here, World Record. The journey was long, but with all of you guys, I made it through, and I couldn't be more thankful and happier. In fact, from all the support and encouragement I've received from each and everyone of you, to the fact I landed my first ever World Record on my favorite track in the fame, I don't think I've been so happy before. All the support and congratulations I received from people I didn't even know noticed my efforts was overwhelming me with joy. In fact I had trouble sleeping the next two nights because of how happy I was. Thank you all so, so much for supporting me. Truly, I couldn't be more thankful for you all for being there, even when I didn't realize So what now? What's left for Big Blue? Will I go for more? With the current strats that stand, my personal best splits (31.950 - 20.300 - 30.783) give me a 1:23.033. Unfortunately, until I can improve my splits, 1:22 isn't possible for me, but with Best Known Splits (31.950 - 20.283 - 30.600), it is! They total up to 1:22.833, which is getting close to beating the hacker. There is still some hope; Xytheon has a new ending strat that looks like it could be faster. This could be just what I need to have splits for 1:22. Section 1 can go down to a .933 or .916, and I dunno about S2, but as S1 & S2 get faster, S3 gets closer and closer to being impossible because of that dreaded last boost panel. Yep, that will become an issue again as splits get closer to BKS pace. Improving here will be difficult though, as my current time is only a small .183 from what my best splits give me currently. Though in the future I will definitely try to push this as far as I can. Anyway, if you read through all of this, I thank you for doing that, and as always, I hope you all enjoy! ;) ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓ Miiverse: miiverse.nintendo.net/users/Dinostraw MKBoards: www.mkboards.com/forums/members/dinostraw-vfjimmy.6115/ Twitch: www.twitch.tv/dinostraw ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ Splits: 32.033 - 20.317 - 30.866 Coins: 10-0-0 Shrooms: 1-0-2 Recorded on August 4th, 2016 ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫ 0:00 - 0:07: "The Jelly Bean Song" by DJC Kids 0:07 - 0:40: "Tetris'K" by Goulamas'K 0:38 - 1:00: "Fleeting Ecstasy" by Benjamin Briggs 0:58 - 1:30: "It's the End of the World as We Know It" by The Suicide Machines
