The word 'rejang' means offering. The 'Rejang Dance' is an offering of devotion through dance. It is an adaptation of a traditional Balinese temple dance. Dancers wear bright costumes with yellow & white and headdresses made from fresh young coconut leaves & flowers. Dancers taught by Putu Oka Mardiani Asnawa. Music Directed by I Ketut Gede Asnawa. I am playing bass gamelan, so I sat my camcorder up on a music stand & let it roll. The bass gamelan mallots are just visible stage left. :-)
