Here are some facts about heat energy: #1 - Heat energy is energy that you can feel, and it can be measured by a thermometer. #2 - Heat energy is used for many things, like cooking and keeping you warm. #3 - Heat energy can be manmade or natural, but the most important sources of heat energy is the sun! #4 - Heat energy moves from hot to cold until everything is the same temperature. #5 - Heat energy can move or transfer from hot to cold in two ways: 1. conduction, when heat moves between two objects in contact 2. radiation, when heat moves in waves between objects that are not in contact and #6 - Conductors like metal transfer heat quickly, while insulators like plastic, wood and cloth slow the movement of heat from hot to cold.
