Proper preparation of the basecoat is a key step to achieve durable decorative systems which maintain both aesthetic and functional characteristics in time. The condition and the nature of the substrate plays a primary role if we want to use a slaked lime finish such as Rialto epoca ottocento or a finish such as Rialto antiqua, epoca marmo, mediterraneo or even the fine stucco epoca spatolato. Rialto wallcem is a mineral leveling rendering ideal for indoor and outdoor damaged surfaces to create good conditions for adhesion and absorption. Made up of hydrated lime, special cements, high quality aggregates and synthetic fibers, it is recommended for its performing elasticity modulus. It is available in white and grey depending on the colour of the final decoration. Mix 1 part of water and 2.5 part of the product equivalent to 10 liters for a 25 kg bag. Once a pasty mortar is obtained, the product will maintain an easy workability of 40-50 minutes. Smooth out with a stainless-steel trowel and apply a first coat, a few millimeters thick. When it starts to set, finish using a wet sponge trowel in order to obtain a uniform surface. If required, use more coats at 24 hour intervals to a max. thickness of 5 millimeters each coat. Rialto wallcem is a universal leveling rendering that lets you turn your damaged walls into a good base for your favorite colour finish. For further information regarding the application read the related data sheet.
