Rialto mediterraneo is a colored decorative plaster made up of seasoned slaked lime, high quality aggregates such as white Carrara marble, colored earths and natural oxides. Its traditional formulation, rich in fibers, permits a very high workability even when considerably thick. This characteristic allows us to achieve surfaces with strong and deep textures, replicating the aspect of natural stones such as travertine, slate and many of ornamental stones of Italy architectural heritage. Let's see some examples. With the first example, we want to reproduce the typical Roman travertine color and texture. A solid surface, rich in veining and natural pleasant imperfections. Using the stainless-steel trowel, we apply, on a support of mineral nature suitably treated, Rialto mediterraneo white. Because of its formulation, only one plaster coat of 1,5-2 millimeters will be enough to achieve the effect. We complete the whole wall distributing the product evenly. After about 20 minutes, when the surface starts to dry but the plaster is still soft, we proceed to the next step. Work the surface with a plastic trowel for a lined effect and with horizontal movements we carve the product in a horizontal way, varying the length and depth of the incisions. This is the most important phase of processing. The variety of traces, the desired irregularities of the signs will determine the final typical look of decorative sedimentary stones like travertino. To achieve the best results we try to keep the equipment clean. After 20 more minutes, we remove the main creases using the spatula and then follow up with the stainless-steel trowel. We eliminate any excess material and we emphasize traces and linings being careful to not close the traces by using too much pressure. After an interval of 24 hours, once the surface is completely dry, we proceed to the creation of the chromatic effect. In this case we want to reproduce the classical Roman travertino, we will therefore use the colored veiled effect of Rialto velasil in the color V 457 and Meriggio. Velasil must always be diluted with 50% clean water. At first we apply the color V457 by brush, following the development of the previously created structure. The surface will be particularly absorbent and the created texture will slowly start to take its final shape. After a few hours, we can proceed, applying with the same technique, the second color to contrast and complete finish. Rialto mediterraneo is the ideal product for the realistic reproduction of many decorative stones. Let’s see a second example with the Lessinia's Stone. For this decoration, we apply the first and only coat Rialto mediterraneo in white using the stainless-steel trowel. After about 20 minutes, using the stainless-steel trowel we proceed to work the product and we create some imperfections that subsequently will simulate the typical splitting work of this stone. The randomness and the irregularity of these signs will delineate the naturalness of the final aspect. After 24 hours, once the surface is completely dry, we apply the first veiled siloxane color Velasil V316, followed at intervals of a few hours by the color V457 avoiding any excess of material. Velasil, as in the previous example, must always be diluted with 50% of clean water for best color render of the shades. With a bit of creativity and thanks to its workability, you can produce very unique textures and tones. Using a rubber trowel for thin lined effect, you can reproduce the saw cut slate aspect. For this finish we start applying by stainless-steel trowel the Mediterraneo color 3000, trying to distribute it uniformly. After about 20 minutes, when the surface starts to harden but is still soft, we proceed to recreate the classical lined effect of the natural stone. By applying slight pressure we use the rubber trowel to create a thin lined effect while avoiding te overlap of the creases and keeping the instrument as clean as possible. Let's remove the principal creases using the steel trowel. After 24 hours we can apply the colored glaze to highlight the finely streaked and irregular characteristics of a saw cut slate. We proceed with the brush by applying Rialto velasil in color V361 diluted with 50% of water. After a few hours hours, with the second coat we will obtain a uniformly distribution of the color and the effect. Rialto velasil will give your wall a realistic stone affect ,it will also be protected thanks to its siloxane resins. In the catalogue Rialto mediterraneo you can find these and other 17 particular effects illustrated. Find your closest retailer on our web site Harpogroup.it and ask for this unmissable guide.
