You get a classic Strumbellas show. The Toronto six-piece brought its legendary live show to CBC Music Studio 211 a few weeks back, with the live debut of its just-released record, Hope. As is customary at a Strumbellas show, a sing-along ensued. But as lead singer and songwriter Simon Ward pointed out, he writes a lot of sad songs. "We definitely wrote some downer songs for this record ... I get real lonely on the road and I write some sad songs," he said. So, as you are having a blast and singing along, prepare yourself: a tear might just well up in your eye.
