Will Trump Force One Run Clean? (Full Program)

With President-elect Donald J. Trump promising to dump the Paris climate accord, there is uncertainty that he might also shoot down a historic and hard-won deal to cut emissions from air travel. Last month airlines, aircraft manufacturers and oil companies from nearly 200 countries forged a global deal to cut carbon pollution starting in 2021. The question on everyone’s mind is what happens now. “Trump is a business person and this [deal] is business-driven,” says Jim Macias, CEO of Fulcrum BioEnergy, which is  backed by BP and United Airlines. “He won’t be a champion of this but I don’t think he will get in the way.” Macias believes most changes in energy policy will be focused on reversing regulations on drilling, pipelines, and other corners of the energy sector. As everyone tries to grasp what this stunning change means, join us for a conversation about a market-based solution that has broad international and corporate support. climateone.org/events/will-trump-force-one-run-clean
