Jennifer and Steven Cowgill lost their son to Type 1 Diabetes. Now they are working with SDWR to educate #Diabetics and spread Diabetic Alert Dog awareness. November is Diabetes Awareness month and we ask you to join us and the Cowgill family in honoring their son's life by telling their story. Please take a moment to listen. Those in the community know that highs and lows are dangerous. A service dog for diabetes provides an extra safety net that can retrieve help and alert during a drastic blood sugar change. They are also trained to dial 911 on a special device. To learn more about what a Diabetic Alert dog can do please visit www.sdwr.org/service-dogs/diabetic-alert/ To join the Cowgill's in furthering our service dog mission please visit www.sdwr.org/volunteer-opportunities/ We are currently fundraising for a travel trailer so that families of those with disabilities can receive their much-needed service dog.
