The 22nd Conference of the Parties (COP22) gets under way in Marrakech on Monday, 7 November, and Dr Saleemul Huq gives his views ahead of the UN climate summit. A senior fellow at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) and director of the International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD), Huq highlights the issues that will be addressed at the global conference. Speaking on the day that the Paris Agreement comes into force, Huq also reveals the areas on which he will be focusing during his time in Morocco. This includes loss and damage, with some saying that COP22 will be the 'loss and damage COP'. Huq will be providing daily video updates from COP22 throughout the conference.
