Shown in 16x speed. The older of our two captive raised Western Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio rutulus) caterpillars feeding on native host American plum (Prunus americana). This one was found one as an egg on our plum tree on 6/16/15 and the younger one as a first instar on apple (Malus). Both were reared indoors in petri dishes and originally fed the respective host plants on which they were found on, but the apple fed one was switched over to plum in the third instar.
