Guest of honour and TT legend Jim Moodie talks to Dave Craggs at the Lanark Show about past racing successes on the Island... Scottish road racing greats Jim Moodie captivated the Lanark crowd with anecdotes teased out in conversation with interviewer Dave Craggs. Moodie, has that fiercely competitive streak all the greats seem to possess. He rode for Norton in the early Nineties, then had stints with Ducati, Yamaha, Honda - where he was sacked for not riding the Fireblade, and promptly raced a competitor's bike and won the championship! - and Suzuki. Moodie suffered a horrific accident in 1987 on a TZ250 Yamaha, which took two years to fully overcome, although he was competing later that year. He was at home racing on the Island and enjoyed massive success during the 1990s, smashing the outright TT lap record on the Honda RC45 from a standing start. On the second lap tyre trouble cruelly forced him out of the race. What could have been! For more information: www.classicbikeshows.com/
