New Homestead Finds & Working On Solar Washing Machine

submitted by Daniel on 10/24/16 1

Melanie and I did some running the other day and picked up some nice things for the off grid homestead. We got a coffee table, end table, kitchen rack and a washing machine to name a few. The coffee table and end table are vintage and all real wood. These will be very nice when we sand and refinish them to be used in the tiny house on wheels. Melanie got a nice kitchen rack that holds paper towels, wax paper and aluminum foil. It has cutting blades for the last two. There are two little doors on the top to store small items in it. I got a front loader washing machine that I have been looking for. I want to convert this washing machine to run fully on solar. I will replace the original motor with an electric scooter motor. The motor is rated at 24 volts at 200 watts. The solar panels I have are rated at 24 volts at 200 watts. A perfect match. I spent the better part of the day working on a garden tiller I am trying to bring back from the dead. This will be a separate video though. Thanks for watching.
