How To Drain Low Spot in Yard, Do It Yourself, for Homeowners. Better than French Drain.

submitted by Daniel on 10/22/16 1

Drain a Low Spot in the Yard using left over pipe and old 6x6 cacth basin. The water sits in the low spot because of higher ground on the downhill side. To solve the problem, dig a trench through the mound allowing water to flow freely to a lower section. For best result (permenant Fix) install a cacth Basin to collect the water and small section of pipe for it to flow trhough. Remember - A French Drain is perforated pipe surround by gravel. It is used to collect subsurface water. A Catch Basin helps collect surface water. Sometimes you need to use both systems, but if you have definate low spot in the yard, a catch basin is the answer.
