This is a video featuring a folk song I wrote and performed telling the tragic story of Margaret Garner. She was a slave on a Kentucky Plantation that tried to escape with her family through the Underground Railroad, crossing the Ohio River in 1856. The images are taken from various internet sources in an attempt to capture some of the emotions of this bit of American history.
