Enjoy this CGI / VFX short film by the talented Daniel Berthold! The main focus of ’Tense’ is a fight scene that looks like older martial arts movies. A special story is not a key thing, it’s just a fight for a coin – that’s all. About Daniel and the film: ------------------------------------------ I’m living in Brunswick, Germany and work as a 3D generalist. The main focus of ’Tense’ is a fight scene that looks like older martial arts movies. A special story is not a key thing, it’s just a fight for a coin – that’s all. The hardest thing about this project was to build over forty animation shots, matching the movements of the protagonist. Mostly during the weekends and holiday time I had to serve for it. Actually that explains the production time of over four years. Just for this project I bought myself a new computer. I’ve spent over EUR 11,000 for a new HP Z820 Workstation and however, the rendering took about six months non stop to complete. Fortunately Özge Michael could help me out with camera work. She studied graphic design at the HBK, Brunswick where she was able to borrow cameras and other equpment. Also for the soundtrack I could get someone. This was done by Felix Loop and Torsten Prenzler. Details: · Mainly we shot on a Red One Camera in 4K. · We didn’t shot with any special lighting because we were not enough people to handle that. So I had to get out the best looking image from the Red raw footage. · The creature is rigged with Maya muscle and a lot of helper joints. I also used nDynamics for a few things. · No motion capture was used. The creature is completely handanimated, except for the tail. · The texture resulution is about 56K (28 tiled 2K maps) for the main body of the character. Painted with MudBox. In addition to that there are textures for the clothing. · The rendering is done with vRay and the compositing with Blackmagic Fusion. Final color correction and editing is done with Davinci Resolve lite. Main software I used: Photoshop, zBrush, Topogun, Maya, Mudbox, vRay, Blackmagic Fusion, daVinci resolve lite Director: Daniel Berthold Actor: David Kluk Camera: Özge Michael Soundtrack: Felix Loop, Torsten Prenzler VFX/SFX: Daniel Berthold www.youtube.com/depthengine www.twitter.com/berthold86d www.depthengine.cgsociety.org ———————————————————— WHO EXACTLY ARE THECGBROS? - bit.ly/2bzGzYQ ———————————————————— Thanks for SUBSCRIBING -bit.ly/2c8Fl8u Web TheCGBros www.thecgbros.com YouTube www.youtube.com/user/TheCGBro Facebook www.facebook.com/TheCGBro Twitter twitter.com/TheCGBros Google+ plus.google.com/104301021746334584641 Pinterest www.pinterest.com/TheCGBros/ Tumblr thecgbros.tumblr.com/ ———————————————————— If you’re a CGI ARTIST, ANIMATOR, FILM MAKER or STUDIO and would like your project showcased on our TheCGBros please visit bit.ly/2byguiS ———————————————————— TheCGBros have permission to broadcast this video and or it is part of Creative Commons the creativecommons.org/licenses/b....
