Shaun Robert Smith (writer/director) and Craig Conway (writer/producer/actor) discuss their film ‘BROKEN’. Find out more at www.facebook.com/broknmovie/ Shaun Robert Smith Shaun originally trained and worked in film as a Prosthetics designer. In 2004 he wrote & directed the professional short film ‘THIS PLACE’, which won ‘Best Film’ at the Leeds International Film Festival. In 2007 he wrote and directed ‘THE SOLDIER’ (based on his short film AWOL TO HORROR) which won ‘Best Film’, ‘Best Cinematography’, ‘Best Visual Effects’ and ‘Best Editing’ awards. It was released nationwide in 2008 as part of Showcase Cinemas ‘7 Nights of Fright’. The film was screened before each feature film and received fantastic reviews. Shaun developed ‘THE SOLDIER’ into a feature length script titled ‘THE 4TH REICH’ produced by Mann Made Films duo Scott Mann & James Edward Barker with a secured distribution deal from E1 Entertainment. Last month he was nominated for the ‘Screen International Rising Star Award’. Craig Conway Over the last two decades Craig has worked in stage, television and film as an actor, writer, director and producer. He has worked with many leading practitioners and International professionals and creatives, in the UK and Internationally including Mike Leigh, Neil Marshall, Trevor Nunn and Samuel West, for BBC, ITV and Universal, Celedor and many other independent organisations and institutions. Craig’s film producing credits include, ‘THAT’S HIM’, ‘FOUR’, ‘DEVILS PLAYGROUND’, ‘SCINTILLA’, ‘SACRIFICED’ and recently ‘ESTRANGED’ which screened its World Premiere as part of the Official Selection for the Newport Beach Film Festival in the U.S. Since producing ‘BROKEN’ he has produced ‘GIANTLAND’ and set up BB88 Films.
