DIY: How to replace rotten joists and flooring

submitted by brenwill63 on 10/06/16 1

Short videos and slideshow documenting our attempt at replacing rotten joists and flooring in a kitchen of a house we are currently renovating. This part of the floor was damaged due to leaking pipes, sink and washer and needed repairing prior to the installation of our new kitchen. This project took us one weekend to complete. For the joists we used @ 5 x C16 pressure treated timbers 45x95x2400MM. Other than the materials used for this job the only additional purchase was an auger wood drill bit 12x235mm which cost @£5.00. We are amateurs and not professionals. Please bear in mind that this is not meant to be a tutorial or a suggestion as to how this installation should be performed so no nasty comments please. This is merely an example of what can be achieved by someone with reasonable DIY skills and a few basic tools if they're prepared to get stuck in and have a go. All the usual legal disclaimers apply .......... ;?) Please subscribe for more vids like this one.
