Some images on sites have small text below the image called the captions. It comes in handy for describing details about an image. With the image uploaded there will be a form where you can provide the image information such as title, caption, alternate text, and description. The title and description boxes are not visible to the user but the caption will be shown depending on your theme, next to or below the image. If you create an image gallery you can add captions to each image using the box beneath each image.
