Join us on our Cessna 210 Centurion flight from Missoula, MT north to the fogged-in Flathead Valley and then east over the Mission Mountains to the Bob Marshall Wilderness. This flight was in November allowing beautiful contrast between the jagged mountain peaks and the snow cover. We will fly over, under, beside and around the long escarpment known as the Chinese Wall. It averages 1,000 feet high from its base and extends for 40 miles. The Chinese Wall is part of the Continental Divide. Aside from numerous waterfalls, lakes, and dense forests, the wilderness is also prime Grizzly bear habitat and the U.S. Forest Service claims that the population density of this species is higher than can be found anywhere else in the U.S. outside of Alaska. The wilderness, along with the adjoining Scapegoat and Great Bear wildernesses, make up the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex. All three wildernesses total 1,535,352 acres.
