A short film I've just finished about one of my favourite collection of sites, the stone circles of Cork and Kerry in the South West of Ireland. Counties Cork and Kerry are where you will find the largest collection of Bronze Age stone circles in Ireland and the rugged Beara Peninsula is home to some of the finest examples. Sites like Uragh, a small five stone circle with an enormous monolith towering over it on a small stretch of land between two beautiful lakes, on the hillside overlooking it is the almost hidden circle of Uragh West which has become heavily overgrown. As you travel further west along the coast road the site of Drombohlly is high on the mountain slopes with extensive views towards the Iveragh Peninsula. Adrgroom Outward is unusual in having been constructed with tooth-like pointed pillars, while Lissyviggeen can be found within a tree-lined circular bank further inland.
