Can Tourism save Iran? Babak Emamian interview Aljazeera 29 Dec 2013 • Iran desires to increase Tourism from 4 to 10 million foreigners annually • With Iran decreasing oil revenue Tourism could provide some quick relief • Tourism is an Export -- Iran lacks knowhow and funding • Culturally isolated Iran not familiar with International Markets and Business culture • Iran expertise has been in import and sanction busting for last 34 years • Marketing Iran: Iran lacks Worldly figures to promote its industries • Iranian leaders do not appreciate that Capital goes to wherever there is safety and better returns • Caution in dealing with America is repeatedly recommended in Iran...on the contrary bold and decisive actions are required to stop the Iranian economic rut • Neither hardliners nor Reformist have any intention of Internationalisation of Iranian economy , opening it up to International Business Community. • Both factions plan to keep Iranian Economy closed for their own domestic benefits. .
