I don't normally do this and this is not at all the typical style of music I make, but in light of recent events I wrote this quite a long spoken word piece about our country, racial inequalities, the post-racial facade and quite a few other important topics. If you don't want to hear anything about politics then don't watch. I made this spoken word piece because I wanted to not only put all of my feelings into words, but also to kind of say what I feel should be said about the state of our country in a way that's hopefully easier to understand for those of you who haven't spent a lot of time trying to wrap your head around everything going on. I realize it's a bit long, but there's a lot that needs to be said in my opinion. Not only if Black Lives or All Lives or Blue Lives matter, but even addressing certain political figures who are acting as demagogues and strengthening our fears, prejudices and continuing to build the post-racial facade, because all of this fits under the veil of colorblindness. We need to start a discussion, and whether that be here or somewhere else let's please try to keep it civil and without insults. If you insult someone not only will they look at your opinion with an immediate bad light, but it very quickly will put them on the defensive and then the discussion is over, so keep that in mind.
