The 2014 plunge in global crude severely affected Algeria's economy since its an oil exporter. But the country is now diversifying from sourcing revenues from the commodity to other lucrative sectors such as tourism. The industry had been neglected for a while, but the government is turning its attention to the sector as it promises to be the next cash cow for the North African country.
