Fáilte Ireland - Growing Dublin in 2014

Dublin is the primary driver of Ireland's tourism industry and over the last year we have been working closely with Dublin businesses to grow the city and capital's international visitor numbers. This year, Dublin has a new dedicated Fáilte Ireland team that will focus on attracting more overseas growth from Britain, France, Germany and the US by positioning Dublin (city and surrounding areas) to target two market segments which research shows offer the greatest potential for growth. • 'Social Energisers' -- young couples and adult groups looking for excitement, new experiences, and fun, social getaways to novel destinations; • 'Culturally Curious' --independent active sightseers looking to explore new places and broaden their minds; To do this we will work with the Dublin trade and a variety of other stakeholders on a collaborative approach to deliver the Dublin Now Project. --The Dublin Now Project will focus on how we can reposition Dublin to appeal to these two segments and will ensure that Dublin features strongly in our international sales strategy and that we develop the right content to paint the picture of the Dublin that these visitors are looking. A new state of the art Discover Ireland Centre will also open of Suffolk Street later this year that will house new interactive tourism technology making sure the visitor gets a full experience of the Dublin they wish to see.
