The motor vessel "Balmoral" - built in 1947 - took passengers on a rare cruise from Penarth up the Bristol Channel to the River Usk to visit the city of Newport, Docking at Newport had to be exactly at high tide to ensure there was sufficient depth of water in the Usk . The famous Newport Transporter Bridge - opened in 1906 and one of only 8 in the world - is back in action after a multi-million pound refurbishment. Enjoy the cruise!
