Saturday 3rd November saw three cruise ships in Southampton Docks in the form of Fred Olsen Cruise Line's "Balmoral", docked at the 'QEII' Terminal, Princess Cruises' "Grand Princess" at the 'Ocean' Terminal and a rare visit from Holland-America Line's MS "Rotterdam" docked at the 'Mayflower' Terminal. "Balmoral" was scheduled to depart at 16:30 on a 13 night round trip to Madeira and the Canary Islands, with "Grand Princess" at 17:00 for a 14 night one-way cruise Fort Lauderdale, Florida via Western Europe. Both ships departed roughly ten minutes early from their respective times. "Rotterdam" had arrived at around 11:15 and was due to depart at 20:00 hours on a 32 day round trip to the Caribbean. Today marked "Grand Princess's" final cruise from Southampton for the foreseeable future and she will not be returning to run Princess Cruises' UK-based cruises in 2013. She has been running Princess Cruises' regular Southampton voyages since 2007. Her place in 2013 will fulfilled by "Crown Princess".
