The film stars Elvis Presley, Judy Tyler, and Mickey Shaughnessy. The film tells the story of a young man (Presley) who is helped by his prison cellmate (Shaughnessy) to develop his singing and musical talent to become a star. It was Presley's third film and his first for MGM.
