Classic 1978 performance of Sam & Dave's Soul Man by The Blues Brothers featuring John Beluchi and Dan Aykoryd. "Play it, Steve" refers to guitarist Steve Cropper of Booker T. & the M.G.'s. The house band provided the instrumentation for Soul Man and many other Sam and Dave singles. Steve Cropper played guitar for both the original Sam and Dave recording and the live and studio covers by the Blues Brothers. Soul Man was written by Issac Hayes and David Porter. John Belushi died from a 1982 drug overdose in Hollywood, CA. March 5, 2016 is the 34th anniversary of his death.
