Today is World AIDS Day #WAD2015 In #India, about 930,000 women and 145,446 children are living with HIV. Nearly a quarter of India’s children living with HIV are from western Indian state of Maharashtra. Women and children living with HIV have to travel long distances to reach the nearest treatment facility. In case of an emergency, the lives of the patients especially children, are at risk. In partnership with the Government of India and Maharashtra State Government, UNICEF with the support from MAC, has rolled out a Telemedicine project for children in Maharashtra. The initiative aims to provide specialised care to children living with HIV at their nearest health centre through video conferencing.
