English Pop Episode 4: Extensive Reading
In this weeks episode of English Pop Joon and Josh talk about Extensive Reading. Extensive Reading (E.R.) Involves reading a large quantity of enjoyable books which are at the right level. The benefits of extensive reading come when the learner reads regularly. There are two kinds of extensive reading, reading for language development and reading for fluency. Reading is the most convenient form of comprehensible input, especially when the environment does not accommodate the target language for the learner. When the reading materials are carefully chosen to suit the learners’ level, the reading practice allows the learners the continuous exposure to the target language they need in order to solidify and strengthen their language competence.
