Improve Your Stride Length for Big Gains in Running Speed

One of the quickest ways to improve your running is by having a trained eye video you, and then give you ways to improve those specific issues. Here coach Dale Sanford of BPC Performance Coaching explains BPC's process for doing video analysis and what kind of improvements can come out of improving your stride length and/or stride frequency. Keep in mind, the example given only talks about improving stride length. Improvements in stride frequency can also bring about big leaps in performance. However, you need to have a trained professional diagnose the faulty or inefficient technique before you try altering your gait. Once you know exactly what is slowing you down, your coach can give you drills to work on, or they can work with you one on one to make sure you are constantly practicing better mechanics until they are second nature. Diagnosing and then improving running specific mechanics, can also alleviate a number of running related injuries.
