submitted by europelmbh on 07/17/16 1

www.kaiwheeler.com Personal trainer Kai Wheeler out of San Diego,CA demonstrates 3 exercises to improve sprint mechanics. Sprinters rely on the power of their glutes, lats and trunk. To put it simply when you walk or run your opposite glute, and contralateral lat function as a spring while the core acts to stabilize during gait. If you are looking to improve speed and efficiency for running or sprinting it is very important that you learn how to use your body synergistically. A lot of ppl have what I like to call frozen glutes syndrome. Due to years of improper weight distribution and muscle imbalance their glutes don't function properly. Other muscles compensate and as a result they miss out on a lot of power. These exercises will help wake up the glutes and train your body to move as an integrated system to improve speed and maximize your speed potential! Single leg balance- 30 seconds Single leg cable squat row- 10 each leg Single leg cable row plyometric sprint jump- 8 each leg
