Jon Murphy QPM, the Chief Constable of Merseyside Police, took to the lectern at Liverpool John Moores University for the first time to deliver the inaugural Chief Constable Lecture, an annual series of lectures aimed at connecting LJMU with the wider community of the City Region. The lecture, given to 200 dignitaries, students, members of the public and police officers at the Redmonds Building, contained a vibrant mix of humour, historical fact and sobering insight into the workings of a modern police force. The Chief Constable Lecture Series forms part of the LJMU Public Lecture Programme, a diverse series of events which engage audiences on scholarly and civic issues. Visit the Public Events Programme pages for information on forthcoming events.
