Lancashire County Council are writing to all district Councils in the region to make sure their taxi licensing procedures are up to standard. It comes following a leaked interim report into South Ribble Council's taxi licensing. The report said that the Council's licensing function was "Operating at an inadequate standard," after 2 cases of apparent child sexual exploitation were reported. The Conservative controlled council has still not officially released the interim document, but they say that things will be sorted out when the final report is published, although they have not yet announced when that will be.
