A new investigation by the Alzheimers Society has found that many people with dementia who live in a care home are being treated like second class citizens. The government is being urged to clarify the rules surrounding when someone with dementia can be charged for health services. Research shows that patients are being charged for GP visits and are having to wait longer for vital services. The report is based on a survey of 300 care homes and information provided by people affected by dementia.
