This week will see the ban of so-called 'legal highs' come into force. It will be an offence to produce, supply, import or export the psychoactive substances. Anyone caught faces up to 7 years in prison. Legal highs contain one or more substances which provide a similar affect to illegal drugs. The new legislation will make it simpler for police to deal with those drugs which are unsafe but may not yet be controlled.
