The report into the Iraq war in which five Lancashire soldiers died concludes the government chose to join the 2003 invasion before all peaceful options had been exhausted. The invasion was 'not a last resort' that's what Chair Sir John Chilcot, author of the 2.6 million word report said in a presentation to MP's and the public earlier today. The report does not make a judgement on whether Mr Blair or individual ministers were in breach of international law but it does state the war was a failure, and that intelligence was presented with a certainty that was NOT justified.
