The unmistakeable resonate voice of Vaughn Monroe was often immitated but never equalled and was perfect for the song, Riders in the Sky, written near Douglas, Arizona, by Stan Jones. Vaughn was the leader of the singing game with a boatload of hits for RCA Victor. He went on to be a singing cowboy for Republic pictures.
