Horseshoe Gang: Fetty Wap Is Not Going To Be a Legendary Rapper

submitted by Drop Studios on 06/18/16 1

www.vladtv.com - "In the soft era that we're in today" in hip-hop, artists can't comment on another without being called a hater. During this clip, Horseshoe Gang members Demetrius and Julius explain why the new generation of rappers need to find something else to talk about and why fans are also to blame for the music put out today. KXNG CROOKED's brothers - who are "not only from the streets but in the streets right now" - are "anti trap music." "Any minority or whatever that came from the inner city and feeding their kids, we salute that," says Julius. "So if you're a rapper and you're rapping about whatever, it's okay. But, we personally feel like if you're reflecting on your past in your music, that's one thing...If you're rapping as if you're currently doing it, and you're making a catchy jingle to kind of promote 'this is what's cool and this is what's popping,' then that's what we're saying is not cool." The guys of Horseshoe Gang get more specific about songs that don't appeal to them and are quick to bring up Fetty Wap's "Trap Queen." Though "sonically, it's a good song," "Trap Queen" is not a track they want to see or hear females singing. "Don't have my little niece singing 'I'm a trap queen,'" states Demetrius. "Fetty Wap is not gonna be a legendary rapper. The fans need to take accountability, too, because they are accepting certain things." Horseshoes Gang's advice to Wap? "Rap about something else, bro."
