www.vladtv.com - Chicago artist King Yella is well-respected in his hometown, but he caught a lot of flak when he decided to remix Slim Jesus' hit, "Drill Time." Upon first listen Yella thought the track was "decent" and contacted Slim through Twitter about it. "He was a fan of us already, you know?," Yella tells DJ Vlad. "That was his first song that blew up so he was just a regular person. Then we just made it happen." Later in the interview, King Yella expounds on the backlash he received for what he calls a simple 'business move." "I'm a grown a** man. Everything is business," he explains. Yella then reveals if it weren't for him, Slim Jesus would have never gotten his first interview with VladTV or been able to talk to Birdman. "Birdman wanted him on the phone," King Yella disclosed. "Thirsty for him. Slim Jesus hung up on the man in his face. Birdman tried to fly us out to L.A. [too]..." These days the two don't talk as much, but King Yella doesn't blame Slim Jesus. Instead, he realizes it's "the people in his ear" that have them at odds. Find out what happened between Yella and Slim and hear his thoughts about the Ohio rapper's lack of authenticity up top.
