www.vladtv.com - Metta World spoke exclusively to VladTV about growing up in Queensbridge Plaza alongside some of the most legendary rappers, including Capone, whom the famed athlete says he remembers shooting at a police officer. After adding that "Capone had epic nights in the 'hood," Metta says he also remembers rapper Lakey the Kid also having some wild nights of his own in Queensbridge. During the conversation Metta World also spoke about how basketball allowed him an outlet and a way to stay out of trouble, and he adds that "there were a lot of opportunities for me to go left." However, with the help of his father and his love for basketball, Metta was able to avoid getting caught up in the streets. Speaking more about his passion for basketball early on in his life, Metta admitted that he became more aggressive with his skills after watching his idol Lloyd Newton get killed on the court. The Lakers baller told us that "When Lloyd Newton died, the way we played basketball in the neighborhood changed. The level of intensity went up, and I grew up in that era."
