ACES color Tutorial 1/2016 : Mixing multiple RRTs in an ACES "kind of" workflow

submitted by AudienceMagnet on 05/26/16 1

ACES gives us colorists amazing possibilities with seamless and losless workflows and look creation. Grading on a Baselight system in ACES is a modern way of film style grading. In this tutorial I explain a technique, that I discovered while grading my lates cinema feature film "Redha". It is about the use and mix of different RRTs like e.g. "filmlight truelight video" and the "RRT1.0". Why "kind of" workflow? Because the recommended ACES workflow works with AcesCC AP1 and the RRT1.0. In this video I show a more flexible way with more possibilities. As mentioned in the video you can find great infos about the ACES technology and theory. But so far I couldn't find anyhting from a colorists perspective. Here we go... I hope you like it and HAPPY GRADING! Tip: Daniele Siragusano from Filmlight made probably the best ACES explanation video: www.filmlight.ltd.uk/training/resources/truelight/EffectiveColourMgmt_Pt1.php
