The Shetland bus & Old Lerwick

Two superb waltzes from Shetland. Rolandratface asked for the Shetland bus composed by the Late Ronnie Cooper and Medicinecrow also asked for some Ronnie Cooper tunes. The 2nd tune is called old Lerwick, and I'm not sure of the composer of old Lerwick. The pics are self explanitory Here's just a snippet of the story behind the Shetland bus. During the night of the 8th/ 9th April 1940 Germany launched an unprovoked attack on Norway. The so called 'Shetland bus' was a series of boats which carried out clandestine operations between Shetland and Norway from 1942, making almost 100 crossings bringing agents and refugees and even Christmas trees! The bus boats could only operate during the darkes and stormiest times, with their best protection as appearing to be ordinary fishing boats. The memorial is made of stones from Shetland and Norway, symbolising the ever-lasting friendship between Shetland and Norway.
