Tour Scotland video of a sundial outside Abbotsford House on the banks of the River Tweed near Melrose on ancestry visit to Roxburghshire, Scottish Borders. Abbotsford is the house built and lived in by Sir Walter Scott, the 19th century novelist, and author of timeless classics such as Waverley, Rob Roy, Ivanhoe and The Lady of the Lake. Known as the Haliburton dial, the sundial that is now in the South Courtyard of Abbotsford House was recorded first in the grounds of Dryburgh Abbey.
