Tour Scotland video of Cross Kirk on ancestry visit to Peebles, Scottish Borders. A cross commemorating St Nicholas was reputedly found at Cross Kirk in 1261 and a cult developed around the church during the Middle Ages. In the late 15th century, the church was a Trinitarian Priory Church, designated to hold saints relics. The church fell out of use during the Reformation. In 1666, part of the church was used for isolating plague victims. In the 18th century it was used as a school, but had fallen out of use by 1796. It is now a ruin.
