Gone are the sightseers and the walkers, the crowds of people who flock to see the chocolate box village in the day. Slightly spooky but never full on scary, viewing the village so quiet and in the dead of night is to see a sight only the residents can cherish. Like a scene out of a Brontë novel, the hall is made up of the limestone which makes this part of Derbyshire so resplendent. Considered to be one of the most picturesque villages in Britain, the video certainly highlights its merits for all to see. It would be quite easy to imagine the gentry driving past in bygone days, in horse and carriage - the village doesn't seem to have fully embraced its time.
