Woke up to an amazing view of Ambleside in the Lake District and then commenced the most spectacular drive of our lives through the mountains and up into Scotland. In searching for Hadrian's Wall, we also came across Lanercost, a priory built in the 12th century. Amazing graveyard with some really old tombstones. Into Stirling to see the William Wallace monument and Stirling castle. Ended up at our B&B, Westbourne house in Tillicoultry (rhymes with silly poultry) which was gorgeous and we had creepily all to ourselves.
