Saturday October 9 2010 - 09:40am Weather - Very Grey, Very dull, Windy. Ex-LMS Pacific 46233, Coronation Class was captured at Church Brampton Cottages, six miles north of Northampton Station on the Northampton Loop of the West Coast Main Line (WCML). The sound of the engine exhaust could be heard a full three minutes prior to arrival; but the wind degraded the audio track of the video. There was no hiding place. The Duchess really cruised past unaided with 13 up for the "Cathedrals Express" - 1Z69 from London Euston to Chester. A brief video of a London Midland Desiro Class 350 darting south has also been included to highlight the Stygian gloom of Saturday morning.
