Hakan, Magnus, Joan and Dimitri, from restaurants AG, Rolfs Kök and Boqueria were invited to the island by the Gran Canaria Tourism Board. On the trip, part of the "Eat Spain up" project, the chefs had the opportunity to visit various local farms and plantations and took part in cooking workshops and tastings. The chefs also discovered "in situ" the amazing diversity of products of the land such as their island olive oil, native black pork, gofio (roasted corn flour), cheeses, fruits and wines. Gran Canaria will also participate in the "Eat Spain up!" activities at Instituto Cervantes Stockholm (25-27 March) where they will present their rich culinary heritage and invite the public discover its secrets.
